Pustertaler

The Pustertaler Schecken or Sprinzen were the most productive breed in the alpine region as far as milk and beef production were concerned at the beginning of the 19th century. Through unfavourable circumstances the breed nearly became extinct around the 1960s.

Today breeders from all over the world show more and more interest in Pustertaler cattle because of the great potential of this breed. The genetic disposition of the Pustertaler Sprinzen concerning milk and beef production is enormous.

Further remarkable features of this breed are:

  • Longevity
  • Healthy claws
  • Good character
  • Robustness
  • Feed conversion
  • Beef quality
